Default !949 Ford Headlamp Grounds

I have a nicely restored 1949 Ford Coupe. I rewired it several years ago with authentic reproduction stock and the finished job came out beautifully. However, I never had driven the car after dark until recently and now find that the headlights are very dim.

I hadn't worked on one of these cars in decades and from way back I seem to recall that the headlamps grounds might be the screws that fasten the headlamp buckets to the fenders. Does anyone have any guidance before I jump into the job?
