Sp. Plug thread cleaning

Gentlemen, is there a smart way to clean spark plug thread without having to remove the head ?
I was thinking using a correct tap, but first fill the cylinder up with cloth and top it of using grease. Hoping the particles will stick to the grease just enough to carefully pull the cloth out after the job is done ...
However ... there must be better ideas amongst the community !

Hook shop vac on blow to tailpipe, rotate engine so ex valve open fully, then all the chips will blow out

When I find it necessary to clean threads, I have loaded the tap with stiff grease to capture the debris. Fully fill the taps cutting area and the openings between the cutting surfaces. I turn in continuously until I feel the tension lighten, which means the debris is cleared and then back out. I then fully clean the tap in solvent, dry it and re-apply the grease for the next hole. I repeat until done.
Checked with my bore-scope, I do not see any debris in the combustion chamber when finished. Hope this helps.

This sure helps ! Will use wheel bearing stiff grease then and proceed as you say. Maybe to be absolutely sure I’ll insert some cloth anyway.
