Default Black color for tail light mounts

I've looked around in the forum, but haven't found this. My car has a left taillight mount that is satin black. I'm about to add the right one, which is unpainted. Should they both be gloss black or satin black?

In the same vein, is there a colors list for all the parts, i.e.; cad plate, chrome plate, gloss black, satin black, rust, etc.

Thanks,

John

Not sure on the colors but, when I added the right tail light I also had to buy a new left mount as the aftermarket mount on the right did not line up the same as the original mounting bracket on the left.

As Bettlesr stated
I also bought the left and right mounts, just so they would match.
New lights both sides too.

Thanks folks, I'll watch the alignment issue. Got my Rustoleum rattle can at the ready.

My wife will tell you, I never throw anything away. Except the boxes, sometimes I throw away the boxes.

Has anyone EVER made a R/H tail light bracket with the right angle, so's it don't point the wrong whichaway? Claude was always our EXPURT at knotching, bending, & re-welding, to get them to the right angle of the dangle!
I heard of an incident about 2 rear fenders being shipped to China, for duplication. The R/H suffered a dent, in transit! The new ones came back, complete with that DENT in the R/H ones----------

John, when I put the LED on the Murray, I had to change the left mount. There was a noticeable difference in the angle. Painted mine gloss black.

I bought my bracket from A and L. And I believe it is the correct shape and it was painted. If not my mechanic played a trick on me. Wayne

The angle may be why Henry only put one of them on. My left one is pointing slightly down and it was a lot more down until I straightened out the rubber gasket.

I no longer have all the fab equipment I used to have, so it may be what it is, however it will be gloss black.

Yes there is and you are in luck! It is called the MARC/MAFCA Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards. You can get this through MARC or MAFCA or any reputable Model A/AA parts house.

The Paint and Refinishing Guide explains what should be what colours and finish. (Black Enamel was used on the taillamp brkts. )

Thanks, John. I'll have to round one of them up.
