Default Are these ammeters original?

Here are pictures of my 2 ammeters. I think they are both original, but they are not identical. They are certainly better quality than repos i've had.
Can anyone confirm that they are indeed original? Why are they different?
Thanks, Neil

Look original to me. The one on the left looks to possibly be 26-27 Model T which had a wider flatter bezel than the Model A.

Need to see the insides to be certain, but I don't think the one on the right is an original.

The nuts on the back do look original on both.

Originals should have the brass bus bar paint black, so you don't see the brass through the slot on the front. They both look original but I can't expain the brass showing. They are easy to take apart if the needle needs to be straightened. I always use a toothpick to put a drop of heavy oil or very light grease on each of the two pivot points. Original meters when cleaned and lubed are accurate. Be sure the special nuts on the back are tight.

Tom,
A couple of years back, The Restorer had an article on restoring ammeters, including how to replace the buss bar insulators.

This one is original. The other could be used if you change the bezel, face and paint
the inside of the Ammeter..
As an aside,..Tom should post some photos of his meters apart.....great photos!

I thought all the original meters had the circular nuts with the slot?

I was actually going to ask a question on this topic!

The judging standards seem to imply the original meters did not use white ink, that the lettering and scale were simply the base metal (with nickel plate?).

I could never find a meter that looked this way - perhaps I am reading the judging standards wrong?

You could be correct!
The face and glass needs to be cleaned,...to be sure.
How about this......
