Default Carport or Garages

Does anybody use those metal carports or garages. They say they set them up in one day. If you are using one can you tell me how you like it. Also if anyone has pictures I would appreciate it.

I live up here on the (wet) side of Washington state. I have a metal carport out back that i store parts and lawn mower in. it does its job BUT it sweats a lot. I`m very careful on what i store in there.

12 feet long is pretty short! Isn’t a Model A 13 feet long. A short rev I guess.

I have three 18x21 carports. I bought the 2' lift in the walls. total cost was around 1100 each. 4 guys installed each one in about 3 1/2 hrs.
what a screaming bargain! well built and sturdy. can enclose later.

if they didnt do the install, still worth the 1100. and do it yourself.
cant say there are many bargains out there, but this is one.

North Carolina Carports is who I used. Im in NJ

I stor one of my cars in one of those tin sheds. It gets very hot inside during summer so I cut louvres in the top of the walls at each end. It surprised me how much difference that simple move made. They are cheap, do the job but not very secure.

A neighbor just installed a 30x36 9 foot ceiling 3 bay doors, $7400
I'm going to price out one tomorrow for myself. I'm preparing the site for it now.

That is a pretty good price, less than $7s.f., but what does it include? In my area the amish advertise pole barns at ridiculously low prices. They exclude grading, stone for the base, concrete floor, overhead doors, entry doors, windows, gutter, etc. etc. Pretty much you get the framing and metal siding. Make sure when pricing you know exactly what you are getting. I recently built a 24' x 40' and $7400. would be all but eaten up with material!

That's a big drawback to metal bldgs., they do sweat oh boy do they sweat. Almost like a cement block building I've seen them pretty wet too.

Hail or hard rain on a metal roofed building... you can barely hear yourself think

I had a wooden carport and the neighbor had a metal carport.
Walk under the wooden carport on a hot sunny day and it felt cool, walk under the metal carport on a hot sunny day and it was like a oven, you could feel the heat from the metal cooking the top of your head. and the metal carport dripped on the cars and the wood ones never dripped.

I do all the site prep, they install the building. I will add vents and the building will be in a shaded area.
My main garage is a pole barn, sheathing under the metal roof. Insulation in the attic.
