Flathead Straight 6 Engine
Hello Everyone,
I am based in the UK and I am helping to restore a 1942 1/2 Ton Pick UP that was used in the Military. We need for this project a "G" Series Engine 3.7Lt, 226CI inline 6 Flathead. We are also looking for an original 3 speed gearbox and the bellhousing?? Does anyone have anything for sale? Regards Ian |

Re: Flathead Straight 6 Engine
The Ford G-series 226 is not all that common and parts are hard to find for them. A lot of folks change them out for the H-series 226 that came out in late 1947 and continued in production till the overhead valve 215 came out in 1952. I'm sure there are some out there but it will be a challenge for you and the owner. A lot of Ford G8T trucks were made during the war but most likely went to the Soviets.
