1932 3 window body wood (body color)?
I did a search but did'nt find the answer. Was the body wood painted body color when the body was painted or was it painted before it was installed. The car I'm working on the wood looks like it might have been black but not wanting to assume I thought someone may know the correct answer. Thanks

Re: 1932 3 window body wood (body color)?
The structural wood (B pillars, etc.) and that for attaching upholstery wood such as that above the doors was already in the body when it was painted so it ended up in body color. That which was added after the body was painted, such as the package tray and the wood surrounding the rear window opening was treated with a petroleum-based preservative, black in color.
