Default 28 steering sector shaft removal

im attempting to replace the bushings on my 28 7 tooth steering. ive got the cover off and the pitman arm off. how does the sector shaft come out ? do I knock it out from the underneath ? thanks john

Is should slide right out. Perhaps the shaft is worn and catching on the bushing lips.
