32 shock rebuild ?
I have a set that needs to be rebuilt, multiple if the first set comes back good.
I know of Five Points in CA (classicautoshocks.com). Can someone recommend these guys or others that do it? Comments on rebuild quality or price? Thanks |

Re: 32 shock rebuild ?
Bill Wzorek (sp?) often posts on the Barn and is very highly regarded! He's in the Mass. area.

Re: 32 shock rebuild ?
I agree with PeteVS, Bill Wzorek is very good. Fair prices and good turnaround time. Had one set of '35's done by him. Will be going back to him with another set as soon as I can deliver them to him either on the New England Tour or at the '10 Hershey show in October. Previously, I had problems with M&S and have heard others had problems with Apple Hydraulics. Bill's phone # is 1-413-586-5324 or you can email him at [email protected] JM

Re: 32 shock rebuild ?
Pete is right, Bill Wzorek has taken over the shock rebuilding business from one of the best, Louis Trinque. Louis is now Bill's mentor, we have all seen glowing comments about the work of both these gentleman.LouB

Can anyone else comment on Five Ponts on the west coast? If not looks like I will have to try the Barn recommendation of Bill and ship them to the East coast.

Re: 32 shock rebuild ?
One of our customers sent a pair of '32 fronts to Five Points and they were leaking in the box they were returned in. This person has since had another pair rebuilt by Apple and so far has had a good experience.
We have had our share of problems with M&S. Using reproduction '33-'34 rears on my Dad's Roadster and have experienced two broken shafts. So far the 3rd has not failed. They may as well not be installed though as they are very easy to cylce up and down (hardly any resistance) by hand and allow the rear axle to bottom out on average bumps where normally it should not - even for a lowered car. Had a full set of '32 shocks rebuilt by Louis Trinque for a 5-Window we restored a couple years back and they did not leak a drop and worked excellent just like they should.
