Speedometer Replacement
I just got a rebuilt speedo for my '28 Sport Coupe. My old one only went up to around 35 and the odometer and trip didn't work at all. When I replace this is there anything else I should look at? I'm assuming that lubing the speedo cable might be a good idea? Not knowing what the previous owner did, if he put grease in it instead of graphite, then what?

Re: Speedometer Replacement
You could pull the inner cable out the top and inspect it. Then wipe it down and lube it with your graphite.

You're looking at well less than $50 in parts, and the hassle of doing this again in a couple of years when something fails makes doing it now on your schedule a reasonable investment in time. But that's just my way of thinking. YMMV. JayJay
