While Dave M. was cleaning out his new May 1929 Ford Tudor he found this number on the passenger side cross member, if you were setting in front passenger seat and looked down at your heels, his number is stamped there????
NK 13269 - Any ideas are appreciated, Bruce

NK corrosponds to the plant the body was assembled at. I do not remember which website this info is on. The number is how many of that body style were made to that point at that plant. This is the way I understand the signifants of the number. I wish my deluxe delivery's number was readable as I am curious if the body was assembled in Omaha or if all deluxe deliveries body's were made at the Rouge. Rod

I was on Mr. Pluckers side, and it says that NK is Norfolk VA, and as Rowdy says it is the number of that body type. So it is Tudor body nr. 13269 from Norfolk VA... Look by yourself under Letters, number and codes..

By the way, i like a lot to se this kind of reel fine old style Model A... 2 very nice Model A on your Pictures... I can tell you that the " Bodynr " on my Tudor also is placed on the cross member, just under the driver seat.. And some Model A did not have the nr.. My freind have a Model A from begining Jan 1928 nr* A 5918 * and there was no numbers....

This seems strange, as I've only seen the letters and numbers recessed, (stamped in), while these look to be raised (embossed) letters and numbers.
Or am I seeing it wrong?

Also it looks like brown paint on top of original paint, but I'd guess the picture is actually showing rust and a little original paint.

The numbers look raised to me to. But Im looking with old eyes and glasses that are scratched up! But I could see them gonna go look on my late 31 tudor and see if I can find any numbers. I love the two tudors in the pics .Dave M has to be a great fellow ....Im a Dave M also.....Dave

That is a common problem with photos and lighting. It's just like debates on floor pan ribs being up or down. Some will see it one way and others will see it the opposite. Once your eyes have zeroed in on one perception it's difficult to see the opposite. If you look back tomorrow you may perceive it correctly.

OK, I just discovered the secret to view the numbers correctly. You have to sneek up on them. Start by looking at the picture of the cars, then slowly scroll up to bring the numbers down and also realize that the light source is coming from the bottom of the picture and not the top. Now they look stamped!

Hey was just wondering...where all did Ford stamp the numbers on the frames? I thought the original numbers where located under the drivers' side cowl section. When I did my title here in NC (long story...sad ending) the inspector was talking about a panel that he had seen on another Model A that could be removed to allow the numbers under the cowl section to be seen. I figured it was a owner modification. I thought you pretty much had to remove the cowl to get to the original numbers...is that right?
