At one time this was the Dupont code - RS536. What I have doesn't show a PPG code.

That's a nice colour, would make a sharp looking Model A.

Try TCP Global, They show Rublelite Red in their Auto Color Library under 1930 Ford. https://www.autocolorlibrary.com/pag...l#modal-close2

If you can not find a good paint code you can have your paint supplier match the color using the new "Paint & Finish Guide" from MAFCA. Here is a link to my posting which describes the new guide.

It's not firetruck red, more what I'd call burgundy. Several decades ago, the MAFCA magazine published a color chip, coincidentally about the time our pickup was ready for paint. Computer matching was not available, so we eyeball-matched it to a Ford truck color for which the code was available. As Mr Johnson said, you should get a correct color using the Paint & Finish Guide and computer matching.

That is a little too red. Rubelite Red is a little more on the burgundy side.

I checked out TCP Global and Rubelite Red is not mentioned in the 1930 cars. I don't know where you saw it.

My understanding is that it was a 1931 commercial color.

The Paint and Finish Guide looks like a great resource for the individual restoring a car for points but the price is too high for an individual needing just one code for a fun driver car. I want to be clear I am not being critical but some restorations are necessarily budget driven.

Thanks to everyone for their input. If I find a base coat I will share it with the group.

Here is a couple that are Rubelite and Tampa.

(This combination for the Phaeton is incorrect however that is what the customer wanted.)

When I painted my open cab pickup 18 years ago I just looked for a red I liked.I picked out 48 Ford commercial red.The paint guy said, hey, that is also an A color,Rubelite red.My truck is a twin to the one in Brent's picture.I used either Omni or Nason,I disremember which one.I used to use a lot of each on equipment.I do remember at the time it was $130.I don't remember if it was $130.just for the paint or $130.complete with the materials to end up with 6 quarts of sprayable material.I painted my A with it,then 6 years ago I painted the cab and nose on my 96 Dodge dump truck with the leftovers.

Got this car last fall. The color didn't match anything in the 3rd edition paint guide, which does not include Rubelite Red. Now you guys have me going on Rubelite Red. What do you think?

Thanks for sharing all the photo everyone. I think that Rubelite Red makes for classy car. Maybe it's because it reminds me of the Cordovan Saddle Loafers that were popular when I was in high school back in the late 60's.

Lose the Tacoma colored wheels and substitute Aurora Red wheels with a Vermilion stripe, and it will be a stand-out.

I'm looking at the 3rd edition and I see Rubelite Red on the last page of color chips (the reds).
Looking at the paint guide (again 3rd edition), I don't see any standard 31 Fordor with a red lower as a standard paint scheme. So that could be anything. It looks great, though.

Deluxe and Town Sedan had Ford Maroon lowers. That doesn't look like Ford Maroon to me (darker). That's what I'm planning for my 30 Town Sedan when I repaint.

And I'd vote for black wheels with the Vermillion pinstripe. That looks spectacular with white walls.
