Agreed. I got all three of those tools as well. It was interesting to see the rod on the knocker off the head for mine broke at the same spot. Never got around to welding it up. The guide knocker is no joke. It once popped a valve assembly that was stuck like glue out of the block and across the garage.

Here is a close-up picture of the small engine blocks used to lift the Flathead V8, as posted by Flathead37. Notice the notches on the side, so that they don't move once put into position. This pair of blocks belong to Lawrie.

Looks like a valve spring pressure checker ? The handle apears to be a torque wrench. If I am correct it is very nice & I have not seen one like this.
Cheers

Yes, that is what it is for. The torque wrench must be the older beam style. You set the spring height then pull down on torque wrench while watching needle. There is an audible “click” when spring pressure is reached.

This is handy for turning over an engine. As long as the flywheel and bell housing are on...... Mark

Bringing this great thread back up with a tool that I found my buddy JM 35 Sedan using... It's a timber just about as wide as 600x16 tires with a couple of stoppers added, six by six or eight by eight I don't know for sure. Make four of them! Very easy way to get safe access when you're on level solid ground...

Edit to add: I wish we could use these on the show fields because so many cars ride too low for my fat butt to wiggle under!

I have these two as well. The wedge knocker literally shot a crusty old guide across the garage after a few good whacks with the weight.

I like the Lee bolt on valve checker. It's just a neat tool to have.

K.R. Wilson BV-121 spring shackle stud remover/replacer makes a tough job easy (well, relatively easy).

I wish someone would re-cast these. Seems simple enough. I'd love to have one.

I think these two have become my new favorites!
They make valve removal a snap!
