I hate not being able to edit a post after its been up for ~ 24 hours!! Post #18 should have read...."I believe I have a good one in my stash, but shipping would probably be expensive".

I have a one with very minor pitting. If interested I would take a couple of pictures. I'm in Minnesota so I could ship speeDee. They are cheaper than UPS. It came from a '48 and it has the coupler on it also. Gene

Here are some pics of the one I have alongside a '38-'41 ds that's ~ 2" shorter than a '42-'48 ds. This '42-'48 driveshaft has good splines on the U joint end, no wear in the center bearing area, and some wear on the pinion end splines.
