Default Tips on replacing 46 convert door glass

Anybody have some pointers on getting the door glass out of the stainless frame without the ss frame? Took it to the local glass shop and he was a bit stumped. The rubber gasket is a real bugger. Also the installation of the new glass with the OEM type rubber gasket will be next. Any info would be appreciated.

This is from our website section on window glass replacement. It doesn't seem to qualify the convert vs the sedan doors. Hopefully it can help. You have to click through to the succeeding pages.

Last one I did many years ago involved using a wooden block to tap off the channel after soaking the setting tape with kerosene.
The channel may possibly move without the need of kerosene.

Oak block laid flat on the glass. Hit the block with a rubber mallet. You can also run a blade are thin putty knife around the setting tape. When you put it back together use glass setting tape. It holds the glass better than rubber.
