'46 Ford pickmeup
Just thought I would share some pics of a friend of mine '46 pickup.
It's in my shop for a little love. Been sitting for years in a barn. Last edited by 2935ford; 06-30-2020 at 08:22 AM. |

Thats an oil filler pipe that Canadian vehicles had. My 48 car which was assembled here in NZ came ckd from the Commonwealth plant in Canada. I think that filler was particlularly useful for COE trucks. It attaches to a boss on the front of the inlet manifold. Canadian inlet manifolds were more often than not aluminium too. GB

Re: '46 Ford pickmeup
Yeah, it's a Canadian truck and that's the oil filler tube.
You can not believe how tight both doors close. The speedo odo has a little over 34k miles on it and wouldn't be surprised if that were original. Now mind you, the previous owner tinkered with it for 40+ years but never had it on the road. He also had a 31 Model AA and an 8n that never hit the road while in his ownership. There was no reg on the truck and took a little doing to get one but that's all done now. So, just repair a bad rr inner tube, second gear, input shaft and slider and it's pretty much ready for the road! |

Re: '46 Ford pickmeup
Nice one! I put one suddenly on it's roof off a gravel road about 60 years ago. Looks like an Iltis tire on the spare? ..B.
