Question Which Tires? (28 Coupe)

I've worn out another set of tires. I'm very pleased with myself, thank you very much. Means I've been driving the old baby.

I know some of you must have done the shopping already. I'm going to replace mine with another set of white walls. Just wondering whose found a deal, if one is to be had.

Thanks for your input.

They don't make whitewalls for Model A's anymore.

Funny.
And almost true. At nearly $200 apiece for Firestones from Snyders, they might be gold walls.
Hoping there is a deal out there somewhere. Four of the five on my coupe are nearly bald.

Received Macs Late 2014 catalogue today. 21 inch w/w tires for a 1928 are:
Firestone w/w are $196.95
Goodrich w/w are $188.95
Lester w/w are $170.95

19" would technically be for 1930-31.

Mac's has 21" for 1928-29 at the same prices.

Mac's, Snyder's, Tam's and Summit all have 4.50 x 21 whitewalls, and all (brand-depending) are priced within a couple of dollars of each other.

Rusty found 5 nice Goodyears that look like new at French Lick. That's about the only real deal I've seen lately. The price for all batteries and tires took quite a jump a few years ago, and for modern cars I've found deals on craigslist for both batteries and tires, but don't know of any dealer deals.

Sorry my mistake I meant 21 and not 19 but I did quote the 21 inch prices.

I just purchased four Firestone whitewalls from Summit Racing. Same price as the other vendors, but FREE shipping.

Why don't you buy LUCAS tires for $99 a pop? I've been using them on both my Model Ts and my Model A, and I'm very pleased with them. You order them from your favorite vendor outside of the Golden State, and they will be drop-shipped tax free straight from Lucas in Long Beach. How cool is that?

I love you guys! So funny.

Gotta be white walls. The coupe has crome radiator shell, headlight bar and light buckets. It just looks so classy with whitewall.

Alright, I rotated the tires today and checked the toe-in (way off). So I'll cruise around on baldys for a couple month until I can pull $800 out or my .. Well, until I can get new ones. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Please see my next post on my steering column and chime in there.
