Cracked block?
Yesterday I was trying to help a friend time a 32 Stock engine Model A. It was hitting on the front 3 cylinders only after we set timing. Ran a compression check, no compression on the cylinder that was missing. Pulled valve cover, intake valve sticking.
But that did not bother me so much. While taking the manifolds off water came out of one of the bolt holes. Second one from rear. Is that bolt hole bored into water jacket? |

Re: Cracked block?
Could be open to the water jacket. Sand casting is not an exact science.
Can you look into the hole with mirror/light? Is there any moisture in the oil? I would Permatex the stud and reassemble.

Re: Cracked block?
I have not had the good luck of having ALL stud holes in original condition when testing A/B blocks. In other words, it is common for someone to have 'pushed' thru bottom of stud hole into water jacket. Silicone , in a clean situation, will handle that leak.
Well, there is one blk that I have that doesn't have any defective holes..a nos Russian B |

No water in oil. So, I think seal the threads when reassembling. |
