Default Front engine mount on a B engine Q..

Anyone here use a B front motor mount when using a B engine...in an A ?
If you do, could you say how that is done and if you got good/bad/not noticeable different results....than when using the A front engine mount

Note: It does seem that Ford went to change in A/B front mount, as an improvement..no ?

Rick I have always been lazy and used the A Model timing cover when putting B engines into A Models
Ford changed the timing cover/engine mount to pick up the V8 mounting points out on the chassis
You make something to do the job

Rick, this is an A motor with the B mount front and 32 K member rear. I used the mount that is 15 inches long and used rubber donuts under it with a metal spacer to make it set level in the front crossmember. One problem is that I had to relieve the mount on the drivers side to clear the radiator hose. Ken

Rick ; i did the same thing on a B Front Mount, You need to cut material from the top of the mount and weld it on the underside in the same spot to clear the lower radiator hose. Other solution is to buy one of the new Motor Mount brackets; Either way you need to drill holes in the cross member to attach the two feet with the rubber washers. Like the idea of a 4 point motor mount is why I did it.

Thanks guys !
I run B block (in '30 Roadster A frame) and am using the B timing cover with A front mount. Also, using FAM rear engine mounts. Have used this setup 10 years without problems.
Not looking to drill any extra holes and not looking for trouble ! But, it is 110+ here now and I'm thinking, and that can be a problem with antique gray/grey matter !

I'm just wondering is Ford had a better idea, when he put a heavier/beefier front mount on his B creation. Seems like the answer to that is ...yes ! So, asking what if any problems/suggestions if using the B front mount.
I like the idea of using the large rubber 'biscuits' up front, firmly holding for more engine torque control.
Is there more than one such mount , than the 'original' '32 mount...if I start looking !

There are two B mount widths, 1932 and 1933-4. They differ in distance between the holes for mounting pads, with the late one being several inches wider...probably around 3.
Timing covers differ also...the 1932 cover has same bolt spacing for bolting mount to engine as Model A, and so can be used with A mount directly if desired. The '33-4 front cover has those bolt holes spaced a bit wider. The '32 stuff is more common, as B production dropped rapidly after 1932.

The vendors sell this mount, don't know how much it resembles the "B" mount or not.

Well, it is reshaped to fit the curve of the A crossmember trough, since the A lacks the horizontal pads for the mount biscuits.

Hey Bruce,
THANKS ! That's the information I need if/when searching for parts !

Hey Carl,
I'll check that out, as it looks complete to do the job and Bruce allows that it is reshaped to fit !

Hey Ken,
Nice looking work product !
Is your front mount the longer one ('33/'34) that Bruce mentions ?
I see that it goes up top, behind the pulley ? Does that interfere with pulley install at all ? I have a Winfield dampener installed on the B in avatar and want to use a front B mount there , if possible.

Yes mine is the 33/34 mount and it doesn't interfere with the pulley at all. If I remember right the 32 mount is spaced on 12 inch mounting holes while the 33/34 is 15 inch mounting holes.
