Default t86 shift arms on t85 trans.

I am going to replace my T86, R10 overdrive with a T85 R11. The T85 doesn't have the two shift arms on it. Will the arms from the T86 interchange or will I have to fabricate them? Thanks for any info.

If they will fit and the linkage works out then they could be used. Some are clamped on and some are riveted on the old Ford transmissions. If they both go on the same way then it may work out. Another thing would be length of lever for proper operation but I have no idea what the actual differences are. Mac VP may even have some levers in his used parts pile.
