Default 38 truck radiator

Looking for a radiator for a 38 truck and found every year before and after. Is there something different or is another year close enough???

I have a 39 P/U and I'm sure the radiators are interchangeable. G.M.

The 38 and 39 ought to interchange...the hood latch piece on top is not the same. If you get a 39 commercial radiator the holes for both 38 and 39 latches are there.

On my 39 the hood latch attaches to the inside header of the grill assembly I have a 38 grill that the latch mechanism is different but attaches to the grill header as well. I believe the holes are drilled in both headers for either latch. I agree with G.M. either a 38 or 39 pickup truck (Commercial Car) radiator would fit.

I have a 39 pickup and it has what appears to be a 38 passenger car radiator in it. Every thing fits, but the fan is very close to the bottom of the top tank. If I can find a pickup radiator, I will replace it. I think that a big truck radiator will fit, but the bottom hose connectors are cast iron instead of brass and the angle is different. I have been thinking that maybe the bottom tank of my 38 car radiator might fit the bottom of the big truck radiator and I can make the modification. I would still prefer the correct radiator from the start and not have to jump through a bunch of new hoops.
