Default Ya gotta listen to your car

The last couple of days my car has been saying fix me. The clutch started to chatter a little, didn't seen as smooth at idle. When I started of gear shift would move a little, spark lever would move slightly toward retard.

I'm sure many of you already know what I found.

I opened the left hood to look around. The bolt on the left Float-a-Motor mount had moved up. The nut had fallen off and I guess enging torque caused the bolt to move up. I put a new washer and Nylon lock Nut on, tightened it up driver and car are much happier now. Interesting how machinery often gives hints that something bad is really about to happen.

Yep, once used to something you can tell when something isn't quite right.

Lots of cars give warning of impending failure. Few listen to the warnings.
That is how I made my living for 30 yrs, fixing stuff that the driver should have found a lot earlier.

One case, women drove her car into her garage, shut the engine off, the left front fender dropped down. Left front wheel fell off, wheel brgs were so far gone i had to replace the spindle and hub on the drum.

Glad you listened to your car, saved you some $$

Are you sure you're not referring to a scene in The Blues Brothers?

Yep, might as well wait until it hits the road, and twists all up and takes the brake line with it. LOL
