Default 1940 ford backing plates.

I've done a search here and on the hamb and can't seem to find an answer. I'm in the process of rounding up brake parts for a build. I have two sets of backing plates.(front) The rusty and pitted set are stamped LF and RF. The nicer set has LF and F. My question is, is it necessary to have a left and right side. Will these interchange side to side. If there is a difference I can't see it. I know there is a left and right side wheel cylinder. Was wondering if this was a stamping so the assembly line wouldn't get confused. I would really like to use the nicer set of backing plates.

If you look carefully at the mounting holes where they bolt to the spindles, you will see that there is a slight angular variation. This is to have the wheel cylinder at the very top on each side when the axle is leaning slightly to the rear (caster?)
