Default vent window - '40 ford

How can I remove the vent window mechanism from a '40 ford?

you will have to remove the upper rivet and remove the nut holding the spring and it will lift right out

When you put it back together, get a nice stainless rivet, drill a small hole in the end so you can flare it a little and it will look super.

I always remove the rivets that hold the pivot bracket to the window moulding to keep from having to disturb the rivet at the pivot point.
