It's nice, but I am afraid the wrong guy found it if he is going to make it unto a hot rod. Not that I hate hot rods, but I do hate seeing nice original cars going that route.

don't think he's going to build a hot rod out of it since he found out how rare it is, he's looking for a roadster

He would be interested in selling it to a restorer from what I have read on the hamb. If it is to be saved someone needs to step up and buy it.

yes he would, I have seen the car he has the frame that has been restored and from what I could see the wood sub rails look to be in good shape there's a motor that turns free and doesn't look to be in bad shape

" I know it's not a roadster but I've seen several nice Cabriolet hot rods built and I look forward to building it. I can't decide what direction to go with it, the original chassis is in great shape and I think the engine was rebuilt right before he quit working on it because it has good compression. So I could try to find some hop-up parts and go that route or an old six, flat head or later V8. Adams Hot Rod Shop is here in town, he builds some of the finest 32's in the country today and I could get them to build me a deuce chassis for it,..."

Glad the guys talked him out of it. Anyone here want to trade a roadster for a cabby?

I would.love to have it but I am restoring a 37 Buick roadmaster four door convertible that is going to take the next few years to complete.

That is a 68C slant Cab, not very common. Disappointing if it gets modified.
But not as bad as the '32 Cab. [ RHD new in New Zealand only 1 of 2 here] that was stripped & made into a rod when it ended up in the US.

Save it or sell it to someone who will. What a beautiful example of rare Americana.

There is a guy posting on the AACA forum looking specifically for a 68c slant window only - wants an older restoration so this might be too much project for him but one never knows. It is in the buy sell section.

Steve,
pretty sure the guy on that sight was looking for a 1/2 priced car. When push comes to shove and a guy hides when offered several cars, couldnt have been very serious.

I am sure this slant will be rodded, and that is a shame!

(Post it over on the Ford Barn, and watch the hard core Model A guys go nuts. HRP)

I'm not going to rod it, once I realized how few there are and that restorers seek this cabby I feel it's best to get it in the hands of someone capable and willing to build it back original.

That being said it wasn't given to me and I'm not giving it away either, once I finish gathering what's left in the building I plan on posting some better pictures and seeing what's missing so I can accurately represent the car.

Thank you recognizing this car for what it is and deeming it worthy of restoration. I have no doubt you can find a good home for it where both you and the new buyer will be happy with the deal.
