Default 1935 Coupe spare tire bracket strap

Me again. After finding my spare tire cover, rusted and dimpled more than I was willing to accept, I did this. Notice the bullet hole. I won't fix that.

But, now I can used my lock. Here's a picture. It seems deformed. Any opinions or picture of what it should look like?

Thank you,

Jim

You always do. Thank you. The body bracket's lower lugbolt has a nut that seems welded on. I'm unscrewed that bolt and then putting strap there and passing the bolt through and tightening that nut. Seems like it was made for that.

While installing strap/ban, I also rotated the wheel so that the air valve is on top, pointed downward.

With the air valve at the top, the drain hole inside of the hub of the wheel is at the bottom as was the design intent.

1935 Ford Spare Wheel with Locking Hubcap and Bracket. Notice that the Valve is in the correct position at the top.

The owner of this car has mounted his Spare Wheel incorrectly. The Valve should be placed at the Top.

1935 Ford Spare Wheel Holder. On the bottom stud, there is a small Flat Nut. The end of the Locking Bracket fits under this Flat Nut which is then tightened. Then you mount the Spare Wheel and Tyre with the three regular Wheel Nuts. Then add the Spare Wheel Cover, then attach the Strap attached to the Locking Hubcap and you are all done. Hope that this helps.

Complete descriptions. Fully covered. The tire cover is fully installed. And the valve is at the top. Thank you all for the rescue!
