I just got a new leak less water pump today. I got the old one off and transferred the fan blade to the new pump with the key installed but it only freely turns for a 3/4 of a turn by hand then it binds up. I inspected the inner pulley and it is scratched. It is hitting the housing and I noticed the housing is not true all around. If I just install the new pump will that problem go away by itself or is it a major concern?

not that uncommon, just grind a little on the pump housing where it is rubbing.
