Girls, Girls ??? You must be talking about these two twin grand baby girls that we have watched since they were born . I wish they were coming along! They were at our last Gettysburg meet, and I am hoping they make an appearance again at our second Gettysburg meet this August. They really like early Ford V8's, especially the '35's .

I plan on being there for at least one day. I'm fairly close compared to others, but what would be the best day to be there ? Wed ?

I am close too. I was looking at the itinerary and it looks like wednesday is concourse judging. Seems to me best time to go.

47Sooner - Yes, Wednesday would the best single day, it's concourse day. All the cars will be on the field together then.

Re: 2016 Early Ford V-8 Central National Meet at Tulsa
I'm here now, but I can't tell if it will be much of a meet yet. The judging is tomorrow morning. They expect about 150 cars, but as of today, only about 50 are evident. A few very nice cars, several more that are pretty good, and then the "others". The "swap meet" only had about 8 vendors.

Re: 2016 Early Ford V-8 Central National Meet at Tulsa
Concours day is over. 101 cars showed up of the 150+ expected. Some really nice cars and trucks were there, plus a couple of fun tractors. Dominated by late 40's early 50's sedans. One row of about 20 had all the 32-37 cars. Standout was a '34 Phaeton from CA. Also, a fabulous Lincoln Zephyr with a V12. Another CA car. Hottest place in the entire country in Tulsa today with a heat index of 115.

Wow, jrryttr, Thanks so much for the updates. Hot in Tulsa, you say? I wonder if that takes the pressure off of the crowd hosting the next meet in southern PA in August?

Re: 2016 Early Ford V-8 Central National Meet at Tulsa
I took pictures of all the cars that were on the show field yesterday with my digital camera. I can't post those here until I get back home Sunday or Monday.
This is a tour day, so will take more pictures with my Tablet and/or smart phone and I try to get some of those up tonight. It has been a fun meet for me seeing many cars here for the first time and making some great new friends. Planning to be back on the road tomorrow morning heading for home. Would like to be back by on Father's Day. Hoping for some lower driving temperatures and no rain .

JM, Temps are supposed to cool down in the St. Louis and Southern Illinois area Friday and Saturday but not by much. Upper 80's to 90. Wish I could have been there. Have a safe trip back. Glad you guys had a great meet.

Re: 2016 Early Ford V-8 Central National Meet at Tulsa
Well, the EFV-8 Club's Central National Meet at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa Oklahoma has officially ended as of the close of last nights awards banquet. Thanks to the Tulsa Regional Group, and others who helped, for all their hard work. I really enjoyed the meet and all the great hospitality. Hope to see everyone at the ENM in Gettysburg this August.

Re: 2016 Early Ford V-8 Central National Meet at Tulsa
Hi Seth, it was a lot cooler cruising today from Rolla, around St. Louis, thru Illinois, around Indianapolis, and finally stopping for the night along I70 heading towards Dayton, Ohio. The engine temps were right around 185°F all day today, as compared to 190 to ~ 195°F yesterday. Running at those higher temps caused some vapor lock issues a few times yesterday. Other than that, this engine continues to amaze me at how well it cruises along @ 60-65, and occasionally at 70, with the conversion from a 3.78 to 3.54 rear gears. About 600 more miles to go tomorrow and I will be home. Looking forward to that .

Re: 2016 Early Ford V-8 Central National Meet at Tulsa
Got home from Tulsa three weeks ago....how time flies. I had promised to post some pictures way before this, but as they say....better late than never.....
These first few posts will be the pictures I took on concourse/show day after I finished Deputy Judge duties for '32 to '36 passenger cars. This was a very hot day to be out and about on a black top parking lot from ~ 8am to 2:30pm. I was in a bit of a hurry to take these pictures and then get back into the air conditioned hotel .

Re: 2016 Early Ford V-8 Central National Meet at Tulsa
More pictures taken at Woolaroc Ranch and Museum. There was a huge collection of American Indian artifacts, and many of these items were found on the 3,500 acre ranch. I realize these pictures are not related to early Fords, but this was a very nice attraction to visitwhile driving our Fords on the last tour of the meet.

Hi John. Appreciate the photos. Man-o-man I bet it was toasty on an un-shaded Oklahoma parking lot in July.

Steves46 - you can tell how hot it was by how few people you see in John's photos. Once their cars were judged, most folks were inside enjoying a leisurely lunch and a/c. Or taking pictures...

Hi Everyone, JM Thanks a bunch for taking the time and effort to share your great photos with us here on FordBarn! That '39 Zephyr Convertible deserved three photos! What a beauty. I also love the look of the red '53 Ford! Beautiful front end.
Thanks again!

Re: 2016 Early Ford V-8 Central National Meet at Tulsa
That's all the pictures I have ready to post for now. These last few were random shots taken around The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and a couple of the steel string band and well known country singers who did such a fantastic job of entertaining us during the evening of our social dinner gathering.
