Dream on. There's not a thing 50 of them would do. The problem is in the pump, not the fuel line. G.M.

Or, take along a bushel of these to push a half of down onto the fuel pump when vapor locked.

The wooden clothes pins are an excellent conversation starter however, not so much a Flathead starter...

Clever! Ford anti vapor lock clothes pins! Where did you find those Keith Oh? Great conversation pieces! They surely must work or Ford wouldn't have put their name on them!

The grapefruit installed on the top of the fuel pumps is at the source of the vapor lock. Check the temperature of the pump when running and you will find the bottom of the pump is hotter than the top before heat soak takes place. The gas going though the pump cools the top of the pump real good above 55 MPH. But below 55 the gas sits in the pump to long and this is when Vapor lock starts. With the return line I installed the fuel cools the top of the pump. A typical temperature on a 90 degree day with the return line is the bottom of the pump 130-135, the top with fuel continually running through the pump with a .070 restrictor in the return line is in the 120 to 124 range. A larger .100 return restrictor cools the pump down in the 115 range but reduces the fuel pressure, low fuel pressure adds to the vapor lock problem. We can stop and pick a grapefruit or large orange down here but what do you do up North?? G.M.

I think most guys up North like pasture pies ! They can be molded around the fuel pump for maximum coverage if found at the right time!!

I had a 31 model a that ever time you drove it it would v/l we drove it to the moonshine festival and had to stop 3 times. After finale getting to the show a gentleman said put close pens on it, my wife went to the super market that was close by and bough some, after putting them on it run great and never did it again. Looked funny but worked.

Tell me please, exactly where did you put the clothes pins to cure the vapor lock on your Model A?

wood isn't a great heat sink, but is a fairley good insulator.if you put enough clothspins on the fuel line, the would keep the line from absorbing heat.
