Default Vacuum Wiper Parts

Does anyone know who sells a repair kit for a Vacuum wiper motor (model a ford 1929) ? I can find gaskets and paddle parts, but cant seem to find a kit with the rocker spring & I really need that rocker spring.

Those parts have been off the market for several years. I have seen them at flea markets but they are running about $75 for the kit.

My rocker spring broke years ago and I made one from a safety pin, but now its time to reseal the paddle & I thought I would get a new spring too.....but maybe not....

It was not possible for me to find a new spring about 3 months back. I sent my unit to Kent Jaquith in Redmond (Clean-Sweep windshield wiper service) and he restored it perfectly. He has parts, but uses them for his repairs. He does A+ work.

I had mine rebuilt a few years ago by Ficken. Good work at a fair price.

You need to tell us which wiper you've got.

The original ones (TR- series) takes a long spring for which I have not seen any replacements. For the later replacement wiper (TCX-series) which takes a much shorter spring, there are repair kits including the spring every now and then on Ebay.

Anyway, did you check any good hardware supplier to see if they might have some. I haven't got the dimensions in my head, but the attached snip from McMaster Carr shows that they at least have got a selection in the same size range as the spring on the original TR-series wipers.

For both springs the coil diameter is 127/1000" and the wire diameter is 18/1000"

For the original wiper, the spring length is 0.66", and for the replacement wiper, the spring length is 0.47"
