"looking for 36 Greyhound Ornament"
I need some help. I broke my 36 greyhound in two spots . It broke at the base and a front leg. I've been trying to find one and have no luck. I've heard that you can pin it back together? I know welding is not an option for cast iron. I think its to far gone. Can someone fix this or dose someone have an original one for sale?
I know someone is going to ask.....I tried to replace a light fixture without moving my car from the garage! Broken Greyhound1.JPG Broken Greyhound2.JPG Last edited by mlhayes5; 03-21-2012 at 11:47 PM. Reason: Here are the Pictures |

Thats a repo.Their availlible at most Vendors, try Mac's in NY.Their around $90 now. An originals are very scarse and pricy like far north of i would guess to be upwards of 3-400 $. The tail on originals are not connected to the rear leg. ken ct.

Re: "looking for 36 Greyhound Ornament"
Ken, the '36 was never an original dog. Only the '34 had original Ford dogs.

Re: "looking for 36 Greyhound Ornament"
I never knew those '36 greyhounds were cast iron .... I know my '35's are not cast iron. I believe mine are chrome plated brass and some were actually made in stainless steel.

Re: "looking for 36 Greyhound Ornament"
If you want the best greyhound repo go here; www.americanarrowcorp.com. This company makes the 36 greyhound from stainless steel and it has the free standing tail on the dog. Pricey at $525, but it's very nice. The ones from most of the V-8 venders are diecast chrome and priced around $100 or so.

Re: "looking for 36 Greyhound Ornament"
Ken, Ford never made a 36 greyhound, ergo, the greyhound in question is not a REPO, it is an after market accessory. You know how picky attorneys can get at times. LOL

My Phaten is the deluxe model. I thought the greyhound came with this upgrade from the showroom floor?

Along with duct tape and bailing wire I fix a lot of that kind of stuff with epoxy glue. Worth a try. Can't hoit.
