Much of the stuff that went to Australia was manufactured in Canada and sent in knock down form in that era. How the fenders came to Australia would have depended on how Ford of Canada prepped them. Shipping can damage stuff so there may have been a different procedure due to that.

Ford made on average 25000 fenders a day,all under a time management production system.I have no doubt that the application process was first class,boderization and the baking of applied finish was consistent. I do contend that the level of appearance was arbitrary,time spent on appearance suffered if production demanded it
