Smile Fwiw

For What It's Worth: Came home this afternoon from a show about 20 miles way, about 200 cars. On the way home changing lanes on the i/state, doing 50+ and noticed no deflection on the ammeter, OK, got off highway on to another 4 lane divided, no deflection when coming to a stop. Got home, left it running, opened hood, fan belt turning, ok, no horn, turned h/lights on, car died. The soldered joint on the large nut/connection on the safety fuse had come apart, running on batt. Removed fuse frome circuit temporarilyuntil I get another and e/thing seems ok. Just another spot to ck when you have a noo start condition.

I always thought that soldering connections was the way to go, but if you have a high current situation, heat could build up that could melt the solder and it's only the mechanical connection that will keep everything OK. If loss of the solder results in loss of the mechanical connection, PFFFT...!
