"J" pipe?
Does anyone out there know where I can get my hands on a "J" pipe the convert my '50 shoebox fh8 to dual exhaust?

I know exactly what you're talking about but I haven't seen one in years. Perhaps a good muffler shop could make you one - or maybe something better? I gotta' believe there's someone in Plainfield. If not, there's a pretty good pipe bender in Kokomo

The pipe (kit) is still available, and think I saw it in Hemmings. But that's not a good way to convert to duals, IMO. You're better off buying a factory style special left side cast iron header from Bob Drake, Shoebox Ford, or replace both stock headers with a set of Red's steel headers.

I have a Drake left manifold for dual exhaust that I have yet to install, but it looks pretty good. I think it will do a real nice job.
