Default Engine Ground Strap

Where can I get a braided engine ground strap 15" - 18" in length? Haven't found any this size at the usual Ford parts places.

And what does the 12 4 stamp on the end refer to?

Thanks,

These straps are readily available at auto parts stores:

Thank you...I should have done a specific search...I see they are available at Summit. What does the 12 4 stamp refer to?

Probably a good guess. I just measured the strap and it is 12" in length!

Suggestion: When grounding an old Ford consider fastening ground straps together and have them contact motor/ Frame in more than one area.

Just for the heck of it "mike" the thickness and then check it against this chart.

Here's one that's 18/4. The 4 means 4 gauge.

Hi 19Fordy,

I’m thinking it may be a 4 gauge wire equivalent strap, i. e. Enough cross sectional area to be ohm resistant equivalent.
