Current 6 Volt Positive Ground Turn Signal Recommendation
I've searched and searched, and I can't make up my mind about purchasing a replacement 6 volt positive ground turn signal switch.
My 1931 Victoria currently has functional turn signals operated by a toggle switch mounted on the left side panel beneath the dash (which is an awkward reach), but the system has no emergency flasher capability. I would like to replace the toggle switch with a switch mounted on the steering column, hopefully with a unit that has a 6 volt blinking light when the system is activated and hopefully with emergency flasher capability. I definitely want to purchase a replacement switch, but I can't decide on *which* one. I see several low cost switches and several high dollar switches. I'm guessing a unit in the $80 to $100 range is probably the "sweet spot" for a quality switch. Can anyone share their recent experience with their purchases of such a switch? |

Go to a swap meet and buy an old period correct turn signal switch . Easy to wire them up to your existing system. They look and function much better than the new ones made in China. You'll see them for $5 or $10 often.

This is the one I have been using for several years. Really like it. I have the toggle switch mounted in the corner of my dash under the dash rail. Made a small L shaped bracket that used the existing screw that holds the dash in place. It would be a little more convenient than where you have your toggle switch located now. I mounted the junction box under my seat. I also ran small wires up to the inside drivers side corner of my truck. I wired in two tiny LED bulbs to the wires for a visual confirmation when they are activated. A red bulb for left (port) and a green for right (starboard). I had a glitch in the controller several years after purchasing it and well after the warranty had expired. Sent it back in and they fixed it with no charge and no hassle. A little spendy especially if you go with the column mount but they do work well.

Re: Current 6 Volt Positive Ground Turn Signal Recommendation
Go to the LogoLites website and check out their turn signal options. I recently purchased and installed their 6V positive ground LED turn signals, and they are great ! Absolutely no modifications required to the car, the control unit mounts to the dash very inconspicuously with a strong magnet, and you have turn signals and 4 way emergency flashers. Very low power consumption, and they are easily removed should you decide in the future to do so. I can’t say enough about these.

Signalstat has been around for a long time and available almost everywhere.

Check your existing setup. With a toggle switch you may already have the Electro-tech control. If so, you would need their column switch.

Logolites is excellent for a driver & easy install. Led turn signals & brake lights with magnet dash mount controller unit. Controller is well thought out with lighted push buttons for left & right with auto shutoff & also has signal chirp to remind you to turn off sooner if you wish. We also added a 3rd led brake light in rear window (brakelighter.com).

IIRC, if you have electro-tech, holding the switch to the right for four flashes starts the 4-way. Other direction toggles the beep.

I too use the S/M Electro- tech, set up, and i buy the wiring harness from Snyder`s with the turn signals built right in. it is easy to install and works great with LED bulbs.

Re: Current 6 Volt Positive Ground Turn Signal Recommendation
When you buy the switch from a major supplier just tell them what voltage and ground.
