Default 1957 Thunderbird Shocks

Anyone out there have experience with the KYB shock set offered by several dealers? I'm ready to replace our Thunderbird shocks and don't want to make a mistake.

I have Bilsteins on my 55 T-bird. However, I did put KYBs on my 1988 Mustang 5.0. They're a bit on the stiff side, but I think they're a good value. My car is still under restoration, so I can't honestly say that the Bilsteins are better, but they do cost more.

Gil Baumgartner from CTCI in the restoration manual ,mentions use of an air shock for the rear as an option.
Since I did not have my rear springs rebuilt,I am going to go with a set of those.
The shock that he recommended is a Monroe shock#MA739MM.
