Window replacement
Hi All,
Have to replace drivers side window and wind wing on my 57. Don't know what the names are for the tape that sets the glass or the channels the glass runs through up and down or the fuzzy stuff on the arm sections. Also a good source to buy the parts that are needed. Any help much appreciated, Thanks in advanced. |

Re: Window replacement
For a '57 Fairlane?
Were you using https://concoursparts.com/ for some other things but they don't have those? They have a '49 to '59 Ford section. Not sure I've actually bought from any of these folks but here are a couple places to try... http://greensalescompany.com/ https://cgfordparts.com/index.php http://www.usedautopartsdealers.com/..._car_parts.php Mostly driveline parts and not window parts but here they are anyway... http://www.vanpeltsales.com/ http://www.nwtparts.com/ . Re: Window replacement
Concours Parts is a good place for parts. They should have what your looking for. The stuff used to set the glass is called glass setting tape, should be able to get it at a local automotive glass shop.

Re: Window replacement
When I went to the local shops all they used was urethane in a tube. These guys are a great resource for all kinds of small parts., including the setting tape.

Re: Window replacement
If you have to replace your glass in the future, you will be glad you chose tape.
There are a few different thickness's of glass setting tape, and the glass shop will be able to figure out which one to use. .

Re: Window replacement
I took my door glass and had a shop set all 4 pieces, think it ran me $125. I supplied the glass. Well worth it, also supplied the vent window seals too.
