Default Emergency brake cable

Not sure how to remove the cable from the brake backing plate. Any suggestions? See attached photo. Thanks.

Clean it up, and slip a hose clamp over the retainer right next to the backing plate. Tighten the clamp until the "legs" of the retainer are squeezed in enough that you can push it thru.
