2. gear jumps out (As written before, the 2nd gear jumps out.)

Today I tried an interesting experiment:

I noticed that the 2nd gear jumps out faster on poor paved roads than on a smooth track. When I watch, I see that the long gear stick vibrates more than a little bit.

My consideration is that the long gear lever ratio 5: 1 to the shift claw supports the wear on the forks and the pushing out the 2nd gear. Then I weighed the original heavy shift knob with brass threads. It weighs 2.05 ounces. Then I turned a wooden gear lever knob that weighs only 0.53 ounces.

The surprise was a success: the 2nd gear now rarely jumps out.

I would be concerned with the stress on the gear teeth when they are only partially engaged.. that is, while under load and sliding out of gear. Ignoring that problem could lead to failure.

I would bet your popping out out of second gear is due to wear on your cluster gear .I will look in my "stores" to see if I can help you . $ 500 does seem to be a high price for one delivered to your door taxes paid . I think they are around $300 in the USA catalogues .

Guten Tag!

Yes that's right. I swapped everything around the outside but the problem persists.

I also tried to find the cluster as a good used part, but unfortunately couldn't find anything. What I saw was no better than my own. Obviously the same problem everywhere is that the two gears for mediumspeed 2 are the most worn.
