Have given up on using the 4-cylinder transmission. Going the F150 route. Lot more expensive but it's available in a "kit" that will bolt right in.

Bill Lee: saw this post today and thought i would add to it: check out my post on Clings v8 adapter: you must use a v8 clam shell and rear trans mount for the 4 stud hookup: i still have my stock pedals: you will need to shave your flywheel and use a v8 plate and disc: everything goes together smooth: hope this helps: skip

I know its your car but why go thru all the bother when Mitchel offers a synchronizer transmission for the model A. At the end of the day you will find cost to be the same. I have 2.

You'll notice that the MAC's Bell housing comes with the Clutch/ brake pedal shaft already installed (item #14) which looks a lot simpler than the other kits?

I have absolutely no problem driving my stock model A 3 speed. My overdrive is the 7.50x16 tires on the rear. :-)

Speed costs money. How fast do you want to go?

With a Mitchell costing 2k how can you say the cost is comparable to the v8 tranny? The Clings kit is 500 a sound v8 tranny will not cost $1500.
