Hogshead=bolted on frontmount.
Works for adapting other gearboxes to flatheads.

The cover on the passenger side allows you to mount a power take off gear.

Is it me, or is the hogshead slightly roached down by the clutch shaft?

It's hard to tell, but they do have a notched out half moon in the area. Hogsheads are going for $100 to $150 on ebay last time I checked. They are used for adapting various transmissions to a flathead. I use a hogshead to adapt a T5 to a 59a block.

The bent shifter brings back memories of the old dirt track modifieds for some reason. Love the whine of those old straight cut gears, had one of those trannys behind a 371 olds in my first jalopy when I was 15

Back to the transmission itself, to me they are worthless. They are difficult to drive in good condition and in poor condition really not worth rebuilding IMHO. There are some people that love them, but it is a very limited crowd and shipping would be almost out of the question.

If a person has an old truck that uses one of these and isn't looking to change or modify it then parts have some value if serviceable. Those old non-synchro boxes take a beating with normal service so they need replacement parts too on occasion but folks don't generally pay a lot for those parts until they get rare. Nobody wants worn out stuff so serviceability would need to be determined in order to sell stuff like that.
