If all goes as planed or not we will be breaking down our pit by then to start the long drive home. Bringing a fast flathead once again and a highly modified 8BA with funny valve covers.

If you go, check out Ken Makuch's modified roadster running a normally aspirated flathead on a shot or two of nitrous. He holds the current record at about 185., and hopes to get a red hat this year, if he can keep the rear wheels on the ground so they are not spinning at that speed from the air trapped under the car. Belly pan work, and the wing may do it. Ken is a member of the Ty Rods in Mass,

I'll be there from Friday until? Going up to crew for a friend that has never raced nor seen Bonneville in person! New driver, new car, new everything. Seeing how he doing everything, my son and I have decided to take Chinese lessons just in case we have a Chinese fire drill. It really doesn't matter because we get to help crew a car again after a few years of only spectating. It's good to be turning wrenches and being at the great white dyno once more!

Bummer - I won't make it this year (too much work on other things) and the FlatCad won't be back together until 2018.

I can't wait to get back on the salt and to once again put a car down the 'Great White Dyno'. And I so look forward to seeing all my fellow racers, working in the pits and suiting up and driving - is SOOOOO much fun.

Good luck to all of you - be safe and go fast!

It would be awesome to go someday. My dream would be to actually compete in a car I built. Bucket list.

We were there in 2012 for Speedweek, (what a blast!), and just stopped in for a photo op in 2013 on our cross-country trip to Lake Tahoe. Would love to get back for another Speedweek.
Have the Salt Flats pretty much recovered from those two previous years of flooding?
