Default Early 1928 King Pins

I have been redoing all the brakes on my early 28 Tudor Sedan. I bought all new stuff including a new king pin set and all the works but when trying to put the backing plates on the front the adjusting wedge hits the top of the king pin and wont seat on properly. I called Bratton's and they told me that early 28 has different king pins than the later and they don't reproduce them any more... Is that right and if it is anyone have a refurbished set for sale? I have my old ones, what is the best thing to do?

Simply grind off the outside top of the king pin, enough that it will clear the adjusting wedge casting.

If you are not planning to replace the kingpin in the way Ford did it in 1928 and early 29's, regular kingpins will work OK. Regular kingpin with headless retaining bolts work. With being anal myself, I used regular later kinpins and modified them to look like the originals that were used in early cars. If you want to know how I did it, let me know.
