See your "Oil pressure drop" post below. I detailed the removal from the Shop Manual.
Also get yourself a 49-51 Ford Shop Manual. They are available from most parts places and also on CD(also on Ebay).

Are you familiar with the 48 226h 6 cyl flathead oil canister assembly? The reason I ask is I was having trouble getting oil in canister,it was only 1/4 full after running, also my oil cartridge goes all the way to bottom blocking oil input.I don't know when cleaning this I lost some part on the inside or what.Is there a restrictor inside oil canister or on block? It seems my oil pressure has been affected by this and I can't seem to find drawings of the workings of this canister, let me know what you think, Thank you

Assuming your canister is like a V8 canister, there is a washer-like disc around the center post that stops the filter at the bottom. You should have to compress the spring in the lid to start the cover bolt. There should be a restrictor in the input line to the canister, about .060". sometimes there is a "T" fitting that has an opening for the oil pressure sending unit and the restrictor is built in to the fitting.

If i remember right the canister on a 226 is fed from the bottom of the canister through the mounting bracket ??
Not not really shure where the restrictor is on it.
What i remember is that there is a really long restrictor plug in the front main oil line on them, not sure if that is what restricts flow to the filter or if its for camgear oiling.

See pics of the canister.
There is a passage in the bottom that goes out to the mounting bracket with a ball bearing in it. this ball should be loose. The filter goes all the way down to the stop washer at the bottom of the center tube. The center tube also should be obstruction free. When you remove the filter, the canister will be only half or less full.

There is also an oil pressure relief valve that is to the right of the mounting bracket screwed into the block. You can remove it by unscrewing it and cleaning the parts. Attention: do not loose any of the parts- they are specific to the 226H.

I am completely missing the check ball assembly from the bottom of my oil filter housing so I am looking for the bottom flange or an entire housing as I doubt I will find check ball parts
