Default Help with stuck exhaust valves in 8BA

When I took the intake manifold off, I found 3 stuck exhaust valves in #3, 6 & 8. With the plugs out, and the wand bent on the Kroil, I could shoot some penetrant under the open exhaust valves. It came out the exhaust headers, so I know I got a good load in there. I was able to work the valves down with the valve bar, and they seem to free up a little, but are still stuck enough so the springs won't return them. Suggestions for the next step or steps ? Thank you.

a few cycles of tapping the valve down, turn engine to open again, lube and tap down, repeat until the valve closes normally usually works.

if you tap on the vales make sure you tap exactly in the middle of he valve head, valves bend easy, try a mix of 50/50 acetone and trans oil, that's the best penetrant you can use, don't get in a hurry, it may take a week for it to work

Keep working them. Exhaust valves don't bend, they break. Intake valves will bend.

Thank you to all the Fordbarners that responded. After a couple days of some Kroil down into the exhaust pockets under the valve head, and working the valve down with the valve bar and up with the cam, and adding some mystery oil in to the pocket with a bent straw, they all freed up and are fine now. In the future I will never put the engine aside for more that a month without fogging it out with MMO. Lesson learned.

The chance that the valves will stick again is high. We have a 59AB engine in our shop now. The customer wanted us to reface the valves an install hard seats. When we tried to pull the guide and valve assemblies, most were fully stuck. As we always replace the springs along with one piece guides and straight stem valves, we just cut the stems so we could drive the guides out from above. With the amount on carbon on the valve stems, it was a wonder the engine ran at all.

I like to knurl the guides for a tight fir .0005/.001 clearance. Plus the Knurl keeps the stem well lubricated.
