Maybe Don Rogers could help you with this. I have some '36 header panels, but have no idea how the tack strip(s) are located behind the panel or what they may look like. Although I probably do have most of that information for closed '35 sedans and coupes.

I do not have any tack strips for 36 header panels, I just have a couple sheet metal panels.

Here's some pictures of the tack strip that goes behind the header panel.

any idea how thick the tack strips are? 1/4", 5/16",3/8"? i think i might have to just make them. i have three more questions for anybody that might know,

1st, are there threaded nuts attached to the back of the tack strips for the header panel to screw to with machine screws?

2nd, do the tack strips mount to the body with machine screws, or sheet metal screws?

3rd, with the tack strip in place, would the top of the header panel be flush with the top of the tack strip? not over hanging? as in the same contours?
sorry for all the question, but missing parts make it tough.

1. No, sheet metal screws, therefore no need for back side nuts.

2. The tack strip is attached to the body with sheet metal screws,.

3. Flush with header panel, since headlining tacks to strip, then header panel is installed over the strip with screws and eschusions.
