36' header panel, tack strip diagram. .
does anybody out there have a drawing or photos of how this goes together? i'm missing the tack strips, so it's not lining up so good. i can only go so far with the mock-up. i have an ad in the wanted section, maybe they will turn up.

Maybe Don Rogers could help you with this. I have some '36 header panels, but have no idea how the tack strip(s) are located behind the panel or what they may look like. Although I probably do have most of that information for closed '35 sedans and coupes.

i have the panel now and thought it would just bolt up. but holes don't line up. then i found a pic. with another part that i'm missing. the tack strips. so i'm looking for those. one guy said he has them, but we'll see. says he has to find them and will let me know. but i need them, so if you got em' let me know.

1st, are there threaded nuts attached to the back of the tack strips for the header panel to screw to with machine screws? 2nd, do the tack strips mount to the body with machine screws, or sheet metal screws? 3rd, with the tack strip in place, would the top of the header panel be flush with the top of the tack strip? not over hanging? as in the same contours? sorry for all the question, but missing parts make it tough. |

1. No, sheet metal screws, therefore no need for back side nuts.
2. The tack strip is attached to the body with sheet metal screws,. 3. Flush with header panel, since headlining tacks to strip, then header panel is installed over the strip with screws and eschusions. |
