Default "New" Three Speed W/OD Transmission

Earlier this year I asked Mac VanPelt to "build" me a three speed w/overdrive transmission for my year specific 1951 Tudor, as I was having no luck sourcing a known good condition 1951 specific trans. Mac confirmed he had the needed castings and began to build a trans using hand picked used and many new parts. Mac told me about how many weeks this would take, and was so awesome in sending me build pics along the way. This all happened as quoted, and arrived at my (garage) doorsteps via UPS in a fantastic shipping container, which I can return for credit.

Many here know how awesome VanPelts parts and services are to our hobby and I just had to give this most deserved plug,...... Thanks Mac!

As you probably know, it makes one heck of a difference out on the road.

Mac is a solid dude! He's helped supply parts for many of my glorious transmission "projects". He's always helpful and is willing to deal with issues and has great customer service (like a lot of our vendors on this site). Charylie NY, Michael at ThirdGen, etc . . .

We're blessed to have them!

I’ve been running a slightly worn 49/50 unit in my 51 for a few years now, and the difference from the stock three speed is amazing. The rebuilt 51 unit will go in hopefully this summer along with the 276 I’m building. What is the recommended fluid for the OD trans? GL4?
