1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable (Hide-Away) Hardtop – Ford only made these cars for three years (1957, 1958, & 1959). All three versions had slight differences. In 1958 Ford added dual headlights and used the 1958 Thunderbird grill which makes the 1958 version highly unique. I have been driving the Skyliner around and this car turns heads and attracts attention like crazy. Everyone seems to love it and it is really fun to drive! VIN Information Engine Code G – V8 ci OHV – 4V Carb 265 hp (my Skyliner has a 2 barrel Holley Carb with an automatic choke, so it is running less than 265 hp) Production Year 8 – 1958 Assembly Plant E – Mahwah, New Jersey Body Style W – Fairlane 500 Hide-Away Hardtop Production Sequence – 11275 Data Plate Information BODY – 51A Fairlane “500” Hide-Away Hardtop COLOR – EP2 (this two-tone color scheme is perhaps Colonial White and Torch Red) TRIM – H Colonial Sof-Textured Vinyl and Palomino Royal Scot Tweed DATE – 04L November 4, 1957 (almost 58 years old) TRANS – 3 Fordomatic (2-speed) AXLE – 1 3.10:1 This car has power steering and the original clock and AM radio. The tires are Hankook Radials P215/75R14 with very little tread wear. I have a brand new jack, 4-way lug wrench, and fire extinguisher that go with the car. Comes with both sets of fender skirts (small ones seen in the pictures and large, over-the-quarter panel style). The large fender skirts are fiberglass. Also included a new 1958 Ford Car Shop Manual, new 1958 Ford Owner’s Manual, and MAC’s Auto Parts 1949-1959 Ford Parts Catalog. This Skyliner is not perfect, but it has a lot going for it – great body, frame, chrome, glass, nice interior with vinyl seat covers, and it runs and drives! My original plan was to work on it over the winter, but I have another project on the way, so I am selling the retractable to fund the new project. Asking $ 29,500 OBO. Call or Text Jeff at (502) 208-2230.
