32 Coupe sun visor question
Can someone tell me or show me what kind of fastener/bracket holds the sun visors in place? Does anyone reproduce them? Thanks

Re: 32 Coupe sun visor question
Apparently 3-Window and 5-Window are different regarding sun visors. I found these examples of 32-34 sun visors that look like mine. Haven't found anyone that sells just the small clamp fasteners, but I suppose I can make them if necessary.

Re: 32 Coupe sun visor question
Early and mid-year '32 sun visors do differ between those on deluxe coupes which swivel on the ends with unique die cast brackets and those on all other closed cars, which swivel on a single center hinge clamp. The late '32 version used on all closed cars including the deluxe coupes, carried over into the '33 and '34 model years, are as in your photos with the same two-piece nickel-plated clamps.
Each different type of visor is mated to a unique header panel. Last edited by DavidG; 01-26-2023 at 10:01 PM. |

Re: 32 Coupe sun visor question
Thanks DavidG. Are you aware of anyone making and selling the nickel-plated clamps?

Re: 32 Coupe sun visor question
Finding someone able to reupholster them is the next problem. It takes a special foot on the sewing machine. Also the little metal finishing corners are challenging to find

I guess it’s all just part of the fun of bringing one of these jewels back to life!

Re: 32 Coupe sun visor question
My knowledge of 1932 Fords is limited, but I did have this single one in my spare parts. It seems that this style is early production. Notice the complicated piece that attaches it. It has now been fitted to an imported 1932 Ford Five Window Coupe. I am attaching these photos purely for your interest. |
